INGREDIENTS
360ml Warm Water
2 1/4 Teaspoon dry instant yeast,approx. 2 packets
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Tablespoon Caster Sugar
500g Flour
1 Egg-Beaten
Coarse Salt For Sprinkling Over Pretzel Before Baking
METHOD
Stir Yeast in warm water and stir. Add sugar and salt and dissolve. Add flour 1 cup at a time until dough is thick. Keep adding flour until dough is no longer sticky. Knead the dough and divide mixture into equal amounts . Roll the dough into string-shaped lengths and then fold into pretzel-shapes. Place pretzel unto a non-stick baking sheet. Brush with egg and sprinkle with salt. Bake for approximately 10-15 minutes in a hot oven.
